MEDICARE HAS 4 PARTS

At 65 you must have health coverage to avoid penalty. This can be through Employer Coverage or Medicare.

We are here as your advocate, to educate and be your resource to choose the right path just for YOU.

  1. “Admitted” Pays for Hospital Stays when you are inpatient. Does not pay for under observation or an ER visit.
  2. “Biopsy” CMS/Medicare pays 80% of doctor visits and outpatient procedures. Must pay a monthly premium starting at $185 when you enroll. You are responsible for the remaining 20%. (Unless you are on Medicaid.)
  3. “Drugs” Pays for prescription medications separately than "Part A". Must select a "Part D" Drug Plan and possibly pay a monthly premium for this coverage. Costs depends upon the tier of medications.
  4. "Advantage Plan" - Combines the coverage in Parts A, B and D into one plan, This plan is no longer managed by CMS but by a Private Insurance Carrier of your choice. Must still pay for the Part B monthly premium ($185), this plan covers the 20% covered by Medicare and commonly includes a Part D drug plan, dental, vision and hearing. There are co-pays with this plan similar to employer coverage.
